First, deactivate your American Express cards. Go to your American Express account online and remove authorized third-party access to Quicken.
This is the most important part, so pay attention. Add the accounts back. Do not select “American Express”; instead, type in “American Express Delegate” and select that option. This will guide you through the same process as before. Select the accounts you want to link—do not select “Add.”
I doubt Quicken even knows about this simple fix.
