I am a longtime Quicken for Windows user, and like others, Quicken is creating duplicate transactions when downloading. I later have to clean up the original transactions by deleting then (at lease that's what I think is going on). Nothing has changed in the way I use Quicken. I use Bill reminders extensively to generate monthly expected transactions. I have answered the questions posed by a Quicken support representative to another user experiencing the same problem below:
- When did you first notice this issue?
- Did it start immediately after a program update? «Yes, but I can't say which one exactly»
- Are you importing a QFX/Web Connect file, or a CSV file? «I am doing a One Step Update exactly the same as I used to. I manually run the update about weekly»
- Are the transactions importing into the account, or is a new account being created every time? «the transactions are importing the same as before, but even if I manually match the downloaded transaction to the saved transaction, it creates the duplicate »
- Are the Payee, Date, and Amount on the manual transactions identical or very similar to what is importing? «Yes these are transactions that previously matched and now they don't match and create a duplicate instead»
