After update to R67.7, OSU gave me a CC-901 for almost all accounts - Help!

Question

So Quicken Classic updated automatically earlier this week, but I didn't do an OSU til today. It updated my 5 Chase CC accounts fine but required that I reauthorize all of my Citi, Amex and Capital One accounts and disabled the activation for all of them!  In every case, it gave a descriptive name for the account, with the last four digits, and deactivated those accounts for which I had different nicknames, but included the last four.

What a pain. In case the name mismatch was the problem, I renamed each of them using Quicken's preferred name, went through the authorization process, with all three institutions and linked eachnewly-authorized account to the pre-existing but renamed account, and that worked.

WHY DID THIS HAPPEN? THE ONLY CHANGE WAS the QUICKEN-PUSHED UPDATE TO R67.7. Can I now go back to my (shorter) preferred names? How do I prevent a recurrence?

Well, I already solved the problem when I wrote, but someone else may need the step-by-step, so thanks for locating and repeating it). I am not satisfied that we know why it happened (why after years, with no structural changes to the accounts on the banks' end, do three institutions suddenly need reauthorization, and a fourth does not??). The fact that Quicken pasted its own favored name to the accounts, and did not reauthorize the existing accounts that had relied on the same log-ins,  was annoying. I had to change the names to match Quicken's preference, and reauthorize to get the linking process worked.

I have used some of those nicknames since 1993, and would switch back but don't want to risk triggering more problems. (And I was petrified that I would end up downloading years of transactions to reconcile!)

I'm  also running R67.7, and haven't had any problems with Chase or Citi.  No  experience with Amex or CapOne.
