Overview
As part of the First Bank and PNC Bank transition, you will need to disconnect your First Bank accounts in Quicken and reconnect them using the new PNC Bank connection. This ensures your accounts continue to download transactions without interruption.
Important: You must deactivate all of your First Bank accounts before reactivating them under PNC Bank—including any hidden accounts. Reactivating before all accounts are deactivated may result in errors.

What if Quicken tells me to accept downloaded transactions before deactivating?

- Accept all transactions, then follow the steps above to deactivate the account.
- Select the Tools menu and select Online Center.

- If no transactions are listed or Compare to Register does not allow you to accept transactions, additional information is available on the support site.
What if the Deactivate button is grayed out?
This could be a sign of possible issues with the data itself. We recommend you contact Quicken Support.

Issues You May Encounter
Reconnecting your accounts is straightforward, but you may run into one or more of the issues below.
Duplicate Transactions
After reconnecting under PNC Bank, you may see a re-download of the most recent 90–200 days of transactions (depending on your financial institution). These duplicate transactions should match those already in your register, but you should review your data after reconnecting to make sure you’re not seeing duplicates.
Once a duplicate transaction already exists in your account register, the only solution is to delete it.
Unable to Link Your First Bank Account to PNC Bank
If you run into a problem linking your existing First Bank accounts to PNC Bank:
- Go to the account you are having trouble reactivating.
- Right-click on the account name and click Edit Account.
- In the dialog box, remove the financial institution name (First Bank) and click OK.
Note: You can only do this if the account has been completely deactivated. If the account name is grayed out, there is still a service activated for that account.
- At the top of the Account Bar, click the + (plus sign) button.
- Search for and enter PNC Bank.
- Enter your PNC Bank credentials. Quicken will connect with PNC Bank to set up the account.
- Choose LINK on the screen displayed after Quicken finds the available accounts, and carefully link to your existing First Bank account(s).
Thank you!
