Unable to add new Morgan Stanley Signature Savings account to other accounts for download.
@JMH.JR
Couple of questions:
Jim
I'm having the same problem. Have longstanding account at MS Wealth Mgmt which I access daily with one-step update. When I try to add Sig Savings, bank does not recognize my credentials. Can use same credentials to log into website with no problem. New account is about a week old. Can't find a QFX file. I think problem may be related to my current credentials go to morganstanleyclientserv.com whereas new account page wants to go to morganstanley.com. Don't know how to change.
I don't have these types of MS accounts, but …
In the Add Account dialog, when searching for Morgan Stanley, there also is a selection for Morgan Stanley - Cash Management. Have you tried that yet?
If that doesn't work, I'd suggest that you call their support center during regular business hours.
@UKR, @ira.herman
I was thinking about how to respond to Ira. Agree that trying Morgan Stanley - Cash Management is the obvious thing to try. But…
He says, when trying to add the new account, that his credentials are not recognized. Yet he connects daily with OSU with his other MS Wealth Management account, which presumably would be with Morgan Stanely Wealth Manegment and that would mean that, somehow, when he added the old account his credentials must have been accepted. If that is not the correct one to get at his signature savings account, that, I would think, result in the the new account not being found rather than his credentials not being accepted.
Further, I don't know what is meant by "…my current credentials go to morganstanleyclientserv.com whereas new account page wants to go to morganstanley.com". You get to www.morganstanleyclientserv.com from www.morganstanley.com by clicking CLIENT LOGIN → Morgan Stanley Online.
So, I am a bit confused by this.
I had tried Cash Mgmt and it failed. I do intend to call Support, just wanted to see if there might be a quick fix. In Quicken, the Add Account page shows the login failure and a link to morganstanley.com. However, both my bookmark and password manager (which are working) show the MS target website to be morganstanleyclientserv.com. Also, when initially searching for the institution to add to Quicken, under MS Wealth Management it indicates 1 account linked already and the target is morganstanley.com. Pure speculation, but the existing, working account is 25 years old and I suspect my login is grandfathered in some manner. I am not trying, but I'll bet that if I reset the existing account I'd lose access. I'll call support, thanks for the advice!
Same issue, Unable to add new signature savings account. I opened the account last week and have been trying to get connected since then.
When I select "Morgan Stanley Wealth Management" it says I have 2 accounts linked, which is correct, just trying to add this 3rd account.
The 2 linked accounts have been updating and I can log into the web page and see all three accounts using the same credentials.
I deactivated the connection to one of my other accounts and when I tried to reconnect I get the same error message:
I had to restore my backup to get the connection to this account back and it is again updating.
Talked with Morgan Stanley support and they are reporting issues connecting with new savings account, they had no solution.
Update:
I worked with Quicken support for 2:45 before they said it was a Morgan Stanley issue.
Called back Morgan Stanley and spoke with 3 different people. Ended up talking with the Digital Support team. Learned they have now identified an issue with the Signature Savings account causing quicken to not connect with Morgan Stanley, they hope to have this resolved by the end of June, but even then they don't expect you will be able to do downloads into Quicken.
I have the same issue with the new Savings Sig account. I was told by MS that known issue but now none of my MS accounts which had been downloading well are working. I get error code -2001. I submitted a report to Quicken but haven't heard anything back .
Very frustrating. Am a little relieved that others are having the same issue but honestly the MS folks while nice were not helpful at all.
The problem continues as of June 10, 2026. I am also unable to add 2 newly created Signature Savings accounts. I receive the same error as @dgidlof screenshot. Otherwise, existing MS accounts continue to properly update.
Same problem here. "We encountered an error while connecting to your bank" when I try adding the account to Quicken and no QFX files available to download if I log into my account with a browser.

Progress has been made on this issue. I can now see all of my MS accounts (do not get the error message as shown above) when I try to add an account in Quicken except the Signature Savings account. I spoke to MS and they think I should see the account and be able to add the account. Because it does not show up during "add an account" they said I should contact Quicken because MS thinks it has solved the problem. Any idea what could be the problem?
Hi @Ben12,
Thank you for joining the thread and for sharing the information you received from Morgan Stanley.
Could you please confirm whether you are attempting to connect your account to Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Morgan Stanley - Cash Management, or both?
Also, do you currently have any recent account activity other than interest deposits?
I look forward to your response.
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management is where I tried to add account. All of my accounts showed up except Signature Savings accounts. I did this with MS watching my Quicken log in to Add an Account. They see nothing on their end why I should not see the account. They did mention in the last couple weeks that the Signature Savings accounts could not be added. That warning is no longer showing up on their instructions regarding Quicken. The person I interacted with was knowledgeable about Quicken and did not see anything on their end why I could not see or add the account. She said she hated to tell me to contact Quicken but they did not see a problem on their end. Morgan Stanley Cash Management let me log in but did not show the account number of the Signature Savings Account.
With regard to action in my accounts, I had a number of dividends on 6/24
Thanks for providing more information. Based on the nature of the issue, I recommend contacting Quicken Support directly for further assistance. They can guide you through additional troubleshooting steps in real time and escalate the issue if needed.
You can find the Quicken Support phone number here: Support Home | Quicken. Phone support is available Monday through Friday, from 5:00 AM PT to 5:00 PM PT.
I apologize that I could not provide a more direct solution, but please don’t hesitate to reach out again if you have any other questions.
Contacted Quicken and they gave feedback and sent me back to MS. Here is a blow by blow of my experience and think I have an answer now (I Hope}. "
The saga continues for the signature savings account. The good news is I can now add new accounts of Morgan Stanley to Quicken. However, the signature saving account does not show up as an adddable account. I was on the phone with a rep at Morgan Stanley and they watched me try to add an account in Quicken. They agreed that the sign in was right and they did not know why I was not seeing the SS account. They suggested it was a Quicken problem. Being the bull dog I am, I contacted Quicken and went through the add an account procedure and they also did not see the SS account. They told me to contact MS about the issue. Went back to Morgan Stanley and they agreed it is a problem on their end and told me the problem would be solved by tax season in 2027 (wild answer). I will put it on my outlook calendar and stop trying until next year.
Hello @JMH.JR, @ira.herman, @dgidlof, @Andrew Murry, @David BH, & @steelydb,
We just received an update from our teams. They're not finding any issues on our end, and they recommend contacting Morgan Stanley directly for assistance.
Just tried adding an MS Signature Savings account. Doesn't show up as an option to add either. Not a surprise. I spend to much time fixing Quicken issues. User since about '94.
I continue to experience the same problem. The only solution seems to be to add transactions into Quicken manually while Quicken and Morgan Stanley point at each other as being the problem.
Ya, that's what I did. Bummer…
So are people just adding a non investment savings account for now or they have some other method to do so under investments?
I added it as an offline savings account, but I'm pretty sure you could add it as an offline brokerage or "other investments" account - I think it's personal preference. I'm using Quicken Classic Premier for Windows and I've been a Quicken user for a few decades now.
The Signature Savings account is offered by Morgan Stanley Private Bank, so it makes sense that Quicken doesn't pick it up in either Morgan Stanley Wealth Management or Morgan Stanley - Cash Management. The Signature Savings account statement from Morgan Stanley also looks very different than my other Morgan Stanley statements.
I did the same. I tried adding it to another Morgan Stanley option but was not able to find the account online either. This simply sounds like something that's missing between quicken and Morgan Stanley. I could check it out with my advisor there to see if there's any different but it sounds like we already know enough by previously mentioned comments.
