barclay transition to Citi Bank is missing critical Quicken documention.

My American Airlines AAdvantage credit card was forcibly transitioned to citi.
Sadly Citi's quicken documentation is either missing or wrong.

Of course I started by logging in to online.citi.com which was time consuming but straight forward

Nearly 3 hours later and several tech support calls I finally figured out the critical piece.

I had to choose the correct Citi financial institution
AND
I had to turn on quicken > edit > preferences > automatically add to banking registers|

The correct citi financial institution MAY BE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FOR EACH CREDIT CARD

for instance the front of my card says
AADVANTAGE then PLATINUM SELECT then mastercard
Using some of those words as search terms I narrowed the instutions but several failed.
I chatted online with a Citi tech support agent kept saying things like "clear your cache" "use another browser" "call Quicken".
eventually he contacted someone with more experience and they finally "guaranteed" me that my credit card corresponded to AAdvantage Word MC.

Citi Platinum Select MasterCard
Citi Upromise Platinum Select MC <==== WRONG (i am not UPROMISE)
Citi Smith Barney Platinum Select
Citi Platinum AAdvantage World
Citi Gold AAdvantage World MC <==== RIGHT

That got me halfway, a full year of transactions showed in quicken > tools > online center >transactions

BUT they did not show in the register. (even though they were clearly associated with my new quicken citi account. )
I asked gemini who soon asked me to chec the status of |

quicken > edit > preferences > automatically add to banking registers.

gemini specifically told me NOT to turn it on yet.
20 minutes later gemini finally said I should turn it on. Yahoo, problem solved.

I experienced this transition also, which was brought on by the airline's decision (Not Q's decision) to discontinue BarclayBank.

I didn't have even a quarter of the difficulties you're reporting … although I did have to briefly change my default browser because I couldn't do the initial authorization while using Firefox.

BUT, one thing that you said intrigues me. Have you actually received the new card? I've been told that it will be 6-8 weeks until I receive my

Lastly, it's Citi's responsibility to provide the transition instructions, not Q's …. so this entire thread is mis-directed.

I also went through this transition, and I didn't really have any issue initially. I deactivated the old barclay account from online ( right before they shut that off.

When notified that citi cards (by citi) was ready, I started a new quicken account for it and linked it (I have another citi card on same login) with firefox browser.

Transactions were downloaded ok for days and; and noted that citi retained the original barclay card account number. But then i started get cc506 on just the new citi AA account. That persisted for a few days, so I logged into citi and saw that the card number changed (last 4 digits).. and in the online portal it said the new card process has been started, and 'your number will change'. So I deactivated online access for the account and will reconnect after the new card is up and running.

And, once I got it setup, I've had no problems downloading from Citi although, mysteriously, my "Account Details" in Q shows the last 4 digits of the NEW card number … not my old BarclayBank card number.

Interesting, so I just tried right now to (re) activate it.. and it successfully connected and downloaded the transactions (and last 4 digits are the new number). I think for my case , I activated in the few days under the old number.. and so I think it lost sync when they switched the numbers, de-activate→reactivate was the ticket.
