Paste Transaction with option choosing today's date

For accounts where there isn't a transactional download available, or the automatic download has failed to capture all transactions, the Copy Transactions and Paste Transaction functionality is available to add the needed transactions.

A lot of transactions are of a repetitive nature, such as subscriptions or rents, so you can use Copy Transaction to get a transaction from a prior month and Paste Transaction to insert it. At this point, it would be very advantageous to be able to choose whether to paste the transaction with the date as is or use today's date (which would be the main use).

You can set up and use Scheduled Reminders for that purpose.

OTOH, instead of using Copy / Paste to create a new transaction, simply go to the New Transaction entry line at the bottom of the register.
Set the Date to what you need, then start typing the Payee Name.
A popup selection menu will give you a list of same or similar named transactions. Select the one with the Payee Name you need, press Tab.
You now have a copy of the desired transaction, with all details filled in. Review, make changes as needed and you're done.
