Is there any news on this bug that was introduced a few years ago? I am currently experiencing it, just as the OP describes. Reminders, auto-entry or not, for 30 days, are showing up as skipped.
Original discussion:
I also have some phantom reminders, in case it's related. These are recurring transactions that I edited in some version of quicken in the last couple of years, and were updated correctly, but also duplicated, kept intact as they were, but removed from the UI.
So, every so often I get both the auto-entered recurring transaction as it shows up in the "Bill & Income Reminders" window, and the old phantom transaction, both auto-entered entered at the same time. Last time was recently, for stepkid's auto-entered birthday gift.
I believe it happened last year as well, so introduced sometime before that. I can add in my example case it was almost certainly an edit to the amount and nothing else, since their birthday doesn't change. :-)
I see the issue of Reminders falsely showing as Skipped if I set the Reminder to auto enter 30 days in advance. If the setting is 29 or 31, the status shows as Auto as it should.
This shows in the Status column of the Bill and Income Reminders page as shown here
but not on the Bills and Income page.
Ooooh! Thanks! Almost as good as a fix!
Also, it seems specific to transfers for me, in case that helps someone narrow down the problem. Simple manual bill reminders 30 days in advance don't display "skipped".
Reading another community discussion, I saw that for this customer running a Validate has repaired a number of reminders.
Not sure if that ultimately resolved the issue, but I think you should try running a Validate. Show us the Validate log file messages, please.
I've already changed the transactions in question to 31 days, and they appear like they should now. I did a validate anyway, and the only thing related was: >Corrected scheduled transaction: State Farm Auto & Renters >Corrected scheduled transaction: Verizon Wireless >2 scheduled transactions corrected
Neither of which was a scheduled transaction I was having trouble with. Strange that validate now flags future-dated transactions. If you think that's a problem, Quicken, then let me view future investment transactions, like I can view future bank transactions! smh
