Find out my net worth as of a specific date (Q Mac)

I am running the latest version Quicken for Mac. I was a Windows Quicken user for 25 years

In the Windows version on the top right you can select "an as of date" , and you could see the totals of investments , banking , property , and total net worth.

Under reports my " Net worth by Year " is significantly off .

Is there a way to obtain a report on a specific date ?

I saw you responded . I did call Quicken support earlier this year , with no success.

I should clarify my question on the bottom left there is a category " Total Account " , which includes investments , banking , & property . In Windows version top right you could change the as of date , to get your Total Account value.

Does Mac Version have a similar choice for " as of date " ?

For Investing accounts, yes - if you select an individual investing account or any of the Investing account groups in the sidebar, both the Dashboard and Portfolio tabs have a "Data as of" date that you can change to see your portfolio value as of that date. I sometimes find this useful when reconciling individual accounts or getting year-end net worth numbers.

But for Banking accounts I don't think there's an equivalent - you just have to go through each account, get the register balance on the desired date, and add them all up yourself. There is an Account Summary report that would be able to tell you that if it was still working properly but it's one of the old Quicken reports left over from the old reporting engine and it no longer pays attention to the selected date range, it just shows you today's value no matter what date range you tell it to display.

Create a Net Worth:Net Worth Report. Edit it to change the date range to Custom Date, and use the desired date for both the starting/ending dates. Choose what accounts you wish to show, and depending on how far back you are looking at, don't forget you might have to include hidden accounts.

See if that gives you what you want.

I did run a Net worth report that ends each year 12/31. However once I transferred my data from Q for Windows to Q for Mac , my Net Worth was significantly off by 7 figures in the more recent years !.

On Q Mac on bottom left there is "Total Account " which is the sum of my banking , investments , and property

Hi John:

Thank you for responding . My concern is since I converted from Q Windows to Q Mac , my net worth report is off 7 Figures to plus side.

My biggest concern is since I converted in October 2025 from Q Win to Q Mac , the net worth reports by year end are off significantly . My current " Total Account " total is correct , I was just curious if I could create a report like this for year end past few years .

Howdy, again, @jjrichards. Your details help.

While most conversions come through unscathed, sometimes issues can occur. Sometimes it is the differences between Mac/PC features, other times it is simply a bank connection issue. So, let's look into it:

I suggest you move away from looking at Net Worth reports for now, and try to tackle this by examining things on an account by account basis (as of Today's value) to see which accounts are amiss. Since you are off by millions, the offending accounts should stand out. And likely they are investment accounts.

Do all your cash/credit balances look correct? What about your investment accounts?

Hi John:

I have performed a comparison for all my investment accounts and banking accounts based on Quicken Mac and the actual values as of today . All my banking including credit cards match 100%. . I have a number of separate investment accounts , and they all match with exception of one account , 6 k difference . Net worth reports show I am off by 1 Million positive !!

On the one investment account that does not match Q for Win had a reconciliation . I have not tried Q for Mac

Thanks for the update, Sir-your info helps. And I would now suspect your issue is less likely a conversion issue, and a fixable banking connection issue.

Since the inaccuracy is only with that one account, let's focus on that:

Is this account setup for online updates? (Likely so.) Go into view the investment transactions, and scroll back to the very beginning of the register and see if you have a bunch of Add Shares (aka "Placeholder" adjustment) transactions that are roughly equivalent to the inflation of the account value. They will be in light grey.

(What I suspect is going on is that some securities have a new slightly different name and are now getting treated as separate securities. In other words, you have the holdings from your existing transx, and then the brokerage reports the new which inflates the worth of your account. If this is the case, the solution is simple: we merge the matching securities.

The only one brokerage account Morgan Stanley ( I have IRA & Non Ira ) that is off only 6k . I can go back and see which security or bond that is off. To answer your question YES I have all my banking , brokerage accounts on line updates

It should be pretty easy for you to compare the Net Worth report alongside your account sidebar to see where there's a major discrepancy. If you can identify one account which is off by the $1 million, that would point towards where to do more digging.

Take a trip to your MS ClientServe website and this will make it easier to compare holdings. Switch to the Portfolio View in Quicken to see your Securities and cash for easier comparison. Tip: this might be easier to do on a weekend where your account values will match your holdings (at least for the correct holdings). MS's site typically shows the previous night's balances (at least in my case.)

If everything is lining up in your accounts, and only occurs in the Net Worth Report, then as @jacobs noted, this should relatively easy to track down a million $ difference.

Do you any older accounts that you have hidden (but not zeroed out) and are getting included in the report?
