Quicken Classic for Mac -- Downloaded transactions Uncategorized

I have been using Quicken for years , first on Windows for 20+ years and now on a Mac for the past 10 years. All of a sudden in May 2026 my credit card and banking transactions are downloading as uncategorized and I am extremely frustrated. My investment transactions are still downloading correctly. This probably started with the latest update. I have searched for an answer as to how to fix this. I went into my settings and it all appears to be checked right and I have made no changes to anything. Does anyone have an answer as to why this has happened and how to correct it? Or does Quicken need to send out a new update to correct it? I am at a loss and very unhappy!

@Diana W Yes, this is a known problem. In the last update, they fixed something which hadn't been working correctly with the setting which enables/disables auto-renaming and auto-categorization — and in the process broke something else. Supposedly, it works correctly currently if you enable cloud Sync (in Settings > Mobile, Web & Alerts). Many of us prefer to have Sync turned off to avoid sync errors which can result isn changed old transactions. The developers said that they would have an additional fix so that auto-categorization works corr4ectly even with Sync turned off. As with all promised enhancements/fixes, we don't know when that will be delivered. Since version 9.0 came out in April, the next version (9.1) would typically be delivered before the end of this month, so you might hang in there for another couple weeks to see if this is fully fixed when 9.1 comes out.

Thanks so much for your response — I really appreciate understanding what is happening and that they are working on it. I will hold on to see if fix comes soon as I am also not keen on using Sync.
