Why do deposits show up last in the register?

If I have a debit and deposit on the same day, Quicken for Mac will list my deposit after the debit and thereby show a red negative value in my register. The only way I can avoid this is to put the deposit date one day earlier than it actually occurs so I don't have to see my account appearing overdrawn when it's not.

Is there a way to fix this? Deposits should show first, not last.

You can drag & drop transactions with the same date to rearrange them so the deposit happens first - and they will stay in that order - but you have to do that every time. There's no way to tell Quicken to do that for you automatically.

AFAIK Quicken isn't actually putting the withdrawal first, it just puts the transactions in whatever order they are entered or downloaded. Looking back at my account registers the order seems pretty random between deposits & withdrawals occurring on the same day.

Yes, they sometimes take a long time to get enough votes to be sent to the developers (and then may take a similarly long time to actually happen once they get approved). But every vote inches things a little bit closer!
