I'd love to have the option to sort income above bills on a particular day in the register. I'm using Quicken for Mac.
It doesn't automatically sort that way, probably because not all banks treat transactions on a specific date that way — but you can manually reorder transactions on any day just by dragging them up or down in your register.
Just for anyone reading this thread, dragging transactions into a different order within a date does work correctly in Quicken Mac.
But anyone who wants to see Quicken sort deposits before payments on a date (or have the option to set it to do that) should add their vote for this Idea at the top of this page.

for any given date, register sorting should always list credits - or deposits - first to avoid incorrect overdrawn balances shown. By listing debits first as it currently does, bank balances often reflect an overdrawn status when in fact the deposit made on the same date, is simply listed as a last entry for that date.
I wouldn't mind if it defaulted to that as long as I still had the option to drag transactions into a different order. But I don't want to be forced into that ordering all the time. And when I enter multiple same-day transactions by hand I'd prefer if they stayed in the order I entered them.
It's worth noting that not all banks will count all deposits in a 24 hour day before any withdrawals on the same day. If I have $200 in my account and I withdraw $300 from an ATM machine at 6 am, but make a deposit (let's say it's cash, just to avoid talking about clearance time for checks) of $200 at 9 pm, if Quicken reported deposits before withdrawals, my balance would be $200 at the start, then $400 counting the deposit, and then $100 minus the withdrawal. But in the real world, my balance was $200, then -$100 for 15 hours, and then $100. Some banks would ding you for being overdrawn for part of the day; some banks may not.

The software should identify same day entries and place deposits before of any withdrawals or payments to display a clean balance with no RED negative balance.
