Quicken Classic Business & Personal
I don't even know where to begin. I haven't recorded recent receipts in a few months, so I just opened up Quicken this morning to get started doing so.
I started with a couple of my personal credit card accounts and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I then went to my business credit card account and the first thing I noticed was that two previously recorded records for purchases at Amazon.com had the same memo, which didn't seem correct.
I went and found those original receipts and then corrected the memo for the one that was wrong. I scrolled up further in the register and to my horror, I see dozens and dozens, a whole years worth of Amazon purchases have all been overwritten with the incorrect and identical memo. What's worse, the whole last years worth of transactions, not just Amazon purchases are all just shown as 'Cleared' and not 'Reconciled'.
Getting even worse, every single memo and category for transactions going back to 7/6/25 has been overwritten and is completely wrong.
I don't even know where to begin to try and fix this. Quicken has screwed me so many times over the years, but this looks like the worst ever. Ever since Quicken was spun off from its original creator, I've had nothing but issues. Every time I open up Quicken and it tells me it has to update, I cringe, because I know the chances are better than 50/50 that it is going to corrupt my data in one way or the other.
I don't understand how this current company can keep making this product worse and worse, yet keep charging more and more to use it. Rant off… if anyone knows of a way to fix this mess please let me know. I can't be the only one out there who has suffered from this poor programming. If there is another similar thread out there that any of you can point me to for guidance on this issue, please post a link.
Totally unbelievable how this company continues to corrupt people's data with impunity.
