Downloads not showing

I am using Quicken Canada for Mac. I have had no issues downloading transactions from my bank until today, and have used the software for 3 years. I say it is doing it, but they don't show up anywhere. I have closed, restarted, and checked for updates. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for reaching out to the Quicken Community and for sharing the steps you have tried so far.

If you haven't done so already, I suggest following the steps outlined in our support article.

Confirm that the sort order in your account register is by Date. If it is not, click the top of the Date column in your account register. Your missing transactions could already be in the register, just not where you expected them to be.
Click the Clear Filters button to the right of the account register's filter dropdowns.

If the issue persists, please provide a bit more information:

What is the name of the financial institution?
Are you receiving any error codes or messages?
Are the missing transactions more than 90 days old?
Are the transactions still marked as Pending on your financial institution's website?
Are you using Web Connect (manually downloaded QFX files from your financial institution)?
Have you recently deleted any transactions?
Did you restore an older backup file after downloading transactions?

Hello,

Thanks for your response.

I have tried the date sorting. They are not there.
No error codes received.
Transactions are more than 90 days old.
They are not pending in the financial institution's website
It is TD
Yes, web connect.
Haven't deleted transactions in a while
I did not restore an older back up.

I should also indicated that is says it is processing the transactions with I click the download button after it extracts the information from the bank website.

Thank you for providing the additional information. This is very helpful.

Sometimes transactions may be downloaded into the wrong register, so let's first rule out that possibility. Please click All Transactions above the account list and search for the missing transaction(s). If you find them under a different account, you can click and drag the transaction(s) to the correct account in the account list.

You can also check whether the missing transactions were downloaded into a hidden account:

Go to Accounts > Hide and Show Accounts.
Locate any accounts marked as hidden.
Uncheck the Hide in Lists option and check whether the missing transactions appear.

If the transactions are not found, please review your account download settings:

Be sure to follow these steps in order:

1. In the affected account, click the Settings icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Go to the Downloads tab and, under Transaction Downloads, confirm Download all available transactions is enabled.

2. Refresh your online account information by clicking on the Update Icon, located on the upper left-hand side of Quicken. Follow any on-screen instructions to complete the account update.

You also mentioned that the missing transactions are more than 90 days old. Could you please confirm the following?

Were these transactions previously available in Quicken and then unexpectedly disappeared?
Or are you attempting to download these transactions into Quicken for the first time?
Are your current transactions downloading successfully into the account?

If the current transactions are not downloading, please let me know the date of the most recent transaction that was successfully downloaded into Quicken.

Transactions are more than 90 days old.

You're saying the missing transactions which aren't downloading are more than 90 days old? That's not unusual. Fiancnail institutions (not Quicken) determine how far back they will provide transactions for downloading, and 90 days is the most common time period used by many financial institutions. So it you were looking to download transactions from the beginning of the year, for instance, it's quite likely you can't go back that far. In cases like this, it's worth looking on the bank's website to see if you can download transactions in Quicken or QFX format. It's not unusual for financial institutions to limit direct connectivity with Quicken for only 90 days, but offer much longer time periods for downloads to a file. (This would be a one-time thing to get your old transactions; then you can connect from Quicken to keep current.)

Thanks. I had no problem downloading other older transactions not there are only 2 months that won't download. I thought I downloaded them before but can't seem to find them anywhere. Current transactions are downloading fine. I followed all instructions above but there are still issues.

Thanks. You are not misunderstanding but the institution does let older ones down load. I am for a loss but will just enter them and then keep hopping this isn't an issue going forward.

For only two months of transx, I would type them in. 😊

What I have seen (not just for myself, but from other users) is that some banks (or their service providers) allow more than 90 days when manually downloading, but only in 90 day "chunks" I have seen this personally. Whether this applies to Toronto Dominion, I do not know.

Also, if you had these transactions in your register in the past and deleted them, then Quicken won't reimport as it views them as duplicates (It keeps track of this behind the scenes with transaction IDs.) Whether or not this applies, again, I do not know. You did mention you hadn't deleted transactions "in a while".

The Web Connect file is a mere text file you can open in any text editor, so you could peek inside to see if the transactions are there. But, I don't know if it is worth even the hassle to just to sate your curiosity. If newer transx are importing, you might wish to just move on.
