Custom Comparison Report does not save the 'Compare To' date correctly. The From and To dates always reverts back to an incorrect date. This happens even when i bring up reports that have been saved many years ago.
Hi @GJCranston1,
Thank you for reaching out.
I attempted to replicate the issue on my end but was unable to reproduce the behavior you're describing. To help narrow down the cause, could you please provide a bit more information?
Any additional details you can provide will help us investigate further.
I look forward to your response.
This problem began within the past month or two. It is easy to replicate:
Under Quicken Standard Reports select Income and Expense comparison by Category
Customize the report so that First date range Custom dates: 1/1/2026 to 6/30/2026, and second date range is Custom dates: 1/1/2025 to 6/30/2025
Show the report. Save the Report, then exit the report and bring it up from the My Saved Reports list.
You should see that the second date range is not what was saved.
Thx!
Thank you for providing the steps to reproduce the issue.
I was unable to replicate the behavior on my end, which may indicate an issue with either the report within the file or the data file itself. Please create a backup of your file and then validate it. This process can identify and resolve data integrity issues, including potential file corruption.
To validate the file, please follow the steps below:
Once the validation is complete, please recreate the report from scratch, customize it, and save it with a unique name. This will help ensure that the correct report file is being opened afterward.
After saving the report, close it and then reopen it from the saved report file as you normally would.
Please let me know how it goes.
The problem persists after following the validation process.
Thank you for testing that and for the update.
Since the issue persists after validating the file and recreating the report, the next step is to determine whether the behavior is specific to your current data file or if it can also be reproduced in a different file.
Please create a new test file and then follow the same steps to see if the issue occurs there as well (make sure to save a backup first).
NEW FILE
Note: Creating a new test file will not affect your primary data file.
Once the new file has been created, please create a report and test whether the same behavior occurs. The results will help us determine whether the issue is file-specific or more broadly reproducible.
I look forward to your update.
