What is the beast way to deal with a bloated

I am on Windows Enterprise 11, Quicken Version R67.10 Build 27.1.67.10, My QDF file is 319M and dates from the late 1990s. Quicken is painfully slow. I realize part of the problem is the seer number of transactions, CPU speed and memory. Can you direct me to documentation on options with dealing with file bloat and software slowdown. In reading on the topic I see attachments can cause bloat, but not slow downs. I am not using attachments. There really should be a documented procedure to manaage excessive file size. My apologies if there is one and I missed it, but there seems to be no definitive answer to this question.

Have you looked, in Q Help, at "Archiving" investment transactions"?

Have you looked, in Q Help, at "Year End Copy"?

The first will copy transactions, account by account, in your investments accounts of positions that you no longer hold over to "Archive" accounts … thus reducing the size of the investment accounts and speeding them up.

The 2nd will create a new file, as of a date that you specify, of transactions that fall after that date.
