Retail categeorization is a great idea. However, my wife and I have separate Amazon accounts and the new feature only appears to be able to be linked to a single account. Am I missing something ? Alos I amn hoping you will be adding other retailers.

The feature does support multiple Amazon accounts. The Retail Purchase Categorization extension retrieves orders from whichever Amazon account is currently signed in to your browser. If you have multiple Amazon accounts, you can switch between them by signing into the desired Amazon account in your browser before using the extension.
For additional information, please see the Help Article, specifically the FAQ section covering multiple Amazon accounts.
As for support for additional retailers—this is also noted in the same Help Article that this is planned for future updates, though we do not have a timeline to share at this time.

You realize you can make that much more convenient by supporting multiple simultaneous Amazon logins, right? You're effectively turning a One Step Update into a Multiple Step Update, because I have to log out and back into Amazon each and every time. I've actually tried that in recent days, and the Quicken Downloader extension never clears its cache so I can't tell at a glance which new orders have downloaded from the alternately-signed-in account without searching by order number. Is there a way to remove that pain point somehow?

Thanks for the additional details and for sharing your experience. I can definitely understand how having to switch Amazon logins manually and manage cached data could make the process feel less seamless, especially when managing multiple Amazon accounts.
At this time, the Retail Purchase Categorization extension does require the Amazon account currently signed in through the browser, and there isn’t a way to link multiple Amazon accounts simultaneously.
I’ll be sure to pass along your feedback regarding multiple account support and the cache behavior as the team continues to improve this feature.

I think this is a big factor in not allowing this to be as functional for users with multiple accounts. It would be nice that they would just be able to take all the Charges on the credit card, search Amazon to connect to them, and then download them into the account, regardless of the Amazon account. If they can't do that, Maybe they can just allow you to choose a default Amazon account to use? In that situation, I would make my wife's account the default because she has many more Amazon purchases that I make, plus I don't know what purchases she's made so I would have to look them up to post it. Mine are not very often, and I already know what I bought, so I don't have to download it or look it up on Amazon. Just a thought to pass on to the engineers as at least allowing us to have a default account to always use prevents that switching accounts back and forth unless we need to.
