struggling with Investment transaction entry

Question

I'm trying to reconcile a 401K account at a little company called NWPS.  They don't offer Direct Connect, so I'm forced to download and import a QFX file.

The first thing I notice is that they failed to include my payroll deferral contribution transactions.  So, I need to somehow enter 13 deposits of $2200 each for calendar year 2026.  After entering the first one manually, Quicken allows me to Copy Transaction, but it doesn't offer Paste Transaction to create the other 12.

What am I doing wrong?

I tried to follow the help screen for Memorized Transactions and Memorized Payee but the Help dialog doesn't match reality.

What I see:

After pasting a transaction into the investment account register, the transaction type defaults to Deposit, and other fields are blanked out.  So, it doesn't save any time at all.

My solution was to change all the downloaded Bought transactions to Shares Added.  That skips the needs for the contribution line.

What I see when pasting a Deposit transaction is that the account, amount, and Category are grayed out but the other items can be changed.

Do you see something different? Remember it must be a Paste Transaction(s) onto a blank line in the investing account's register.

That is exactly what I was doing but it didn't work until now.  Suddenly it works.  Maybe the transaction I copied wasn't saved?

But, now I've discovered a new issue.  Paste loses the transaction type, Payee, and Category.  So, you may be right.  If I have to re-enter all that stuff in addition to changing the date, perhaps I might as well create them all manually.
