I can no longer click on the Search box at the top of the register.
Instead, the only way it works now is if I first click on the magnifying glass.
I am running Quicken Classic Premier vR68.28 Build 27.1.68.28 on Windows 11.
Thanks.
To search across all accounts, there's a Search box at the upper right of the screen.
To search within a specific non-investment account, there's a Search box at the top of the register, just below the account name.
To search within an investment account, there's a FIND icon to the far right below the title line
SO, why can't you click within the Search box that you've indicated, and start typing what you want to search for?
OR, click on EDIT, Find … or EDIT, Find/Replace?
Why can't I click within the Search box? Because I can't. That's the whole point.
The mouse changes to a cursor when I wave over the box, but I can't type anything when I click in the box.
When I click on the magnifying glass it takes me to the same exact transaction every time in the register, and then I can type in the search box.
Hi @Michael Rosen,
Thank you for providing additional details about what you're experiencing. To help me better understand your situation, could you please provide the following information?
I look forward to your response.
Being only an infrequent user of "Search", I can't remember if something changed recently or not …
In my R 68.28, if I want to do a Search from the active account register view, I have to move the mouse pointer over the Search box anywhere until the pointer changes to what looks like a roman numeral 1
and click the mouse. Now I can enter text.
When in the register view, the cursor is active on a selected transaction or the new transaction entry line. To begin a Search, you must move the active cursor from the register to the Search field and click to activate it in the new location.
