Only worked when I set it up but not since. I keep signed into Amazon and the CHrome extension seems right. The instructions say it should work during automatic update. Like the tool when it works.
I'm with you here. I was excited at first given our volume of Amazon purchases. Everything worked on the initial sync, including going back 3 months. Then when the next OSU downloaded and assigned categories, it looked ok, but I made changes to one. Then the next OSU, all of the Amazon purchases were assigned that category I changed the previous one to. It should ignore the memorized payee category and download them based on the merchant code on Amazon order each time.
I'd be happy if I could run that initial sync monthly if the OSU process doesn't work.
Hello @clark W & @smoore@,
Thank you for letting us know you're encountering this issue. To clarify, do you have your web browser open when you're running One Step Update? If the web browser isn't open, please try opening it before you run One Step Update.
If it is open, and it's still not working, please try following this troubleshooting from our article on Retail Purchase Categorization:
I hope this helps!
Thank you . In the setup it keeps defaulting to a copy of my main file rather than the main Q file I'm using every day. I cannot change this so far. It says to reset it it but the dropdown doensn't take me anywhere. Interestingly, even though it will download and categorize te transctions to my correct main file during te setup it will not work after that.
Thank you for your reply,
Was this copy made after you initially set up the retail purchase categorization?
Have you tried connecting your main file to a separate browser profile or to an alternate browser (Edge if you use Chrome, Chrome if you use Edge)?
Thank you!
Thank you Kristina. When I open the extension in Chrome, it says "
We need your categories to complete this set up.
On Quicken Windows, go to Tools > Retail Purchase Categorization and click on Get started."
When I go to Tools>RPC, the screen is the Finish Set Up where is has Steps 1, 2 and 3. When I clisk Finish Setup it says "We couldn't detect a connection to the Q/RPC extension" and to try again.
When I go to Preferences/RPC, it says it needs attention and gives me a "set up" option but that just takes me tio the same "Finish Set Up" screen above.
I followed all instructions and Retail Purchase Categorization is not working. Instructions appear to require me to link my amazon account and it appears to have worked but I never provided my amazon account which has a different email adress than my quicken account. Amazon purchases are not populated. I'm not sure what is wrong, maybe just get the tool to work?

I'm having issues with this plugin as well. It worked on the first run, but on inspection, it's pointing to an old data file from 2021. I've gone through and disconnected, signed out, and retried with the only active open data file I've used for years, and it still connects to a different data file.

Mine stopped updating about 3 weeks ago. Everything appears to be connected, but, when I click to retrieve new orders, nothing comes back, notwithstanding that I know I've had (and paid for) Amazon purchases within the last three weeks.

I am seeing the same thing. The plugin is installed and connected. Retail purchase categorization is setup within the Quicken application and connected but it does not match any Amazon transactions.
