My local bank relies on the vendor "Jack Henry" to generate OFX data for download to Quicken Classic for Mac. Since September 2024, every download from every account at that bank produces duplicate transactions. One has a decimal FITID that shows various fields of data; the other is a 40 character hexadecimal that looks like an SHA-1 dashcode. I have examined the OFX log file to prove that one and only one transaction is being fed to Quicken (it is the decimal version). It seems that Quicken is ALWAYS generating the SHA-1 type hashcode FITID for a duplicated entry. This has been going on without any interruptions or changes since 9/24.
My bank and Jack Henry have each investigated this and have verified that they are doing their parts right (and the OFX log proves it). Jack Henry did use SHA-1 codes in the past and the OFX log identifies the source of the data as Jack Henry, so there may be some old code lying around somewhere deep inside Quicken that is solving a problem that went away two years ago.
If you have hex FITID codes, can you look at your OFX log file and scan the first few lines to see whether Jack Henry is listed as the source?
