I Quicken connected to my Fidelity brokerage account and to both my Wife's and my ROTH IRA's. No issues connecting or updating, except one. Quicken will not download quotes for my two Brokerage CD's in my brokerage account. Is this normal?
Are you referring to the section toward the bottom of the OSU Summary report where you can click on a link to see a report of the securities for which quotations did not download?
If so, then go to the Account Register and click on the Holdings button and select the Value view from the drop-down menu. Do you see current prices for those CDs listed there?
Then, click on each of the CDs shown in that Value view to bring up the Security Detail. Then click on More > Edit Price History. Do you see the prices history there?
If so, then what you are describing is an issue where for some reason the OSU Summary Report is not capturing the prices downloads that are actually occurring for brokered CDs. I know I reported this issue long ago but I've gotten kind of numb to it now and simply disregard what the OSU Summary report is saying….for CDs.
If this is what you are seeing, I suggest you go to Help > Report a Problem to let Quicken know about this issue. You can copy & paste the URL for this thread into that report which will help them to better understand the issue. I will do the same. Hopefully, this will lead to Quicken fixing the issue in one of the future software version updates.
Hello @jimshu1,
Just checking in, as we haven't heard back from you in a while.
Were you able to get this resolved with @Boatnmaniac's suggestions? Do you still need assistance?
Thank you!
I can't believe I didn't respond to @Boatnmaniac's suggestion. I apologize!
"Then, click on each of the CDs shown in that Value view to bring up the Security Detail. Then click on More > Edit Price History. Do you see the prices history there?"
Yes, I do see the history.
I Just unchecked the BCD in my "One Step Update Settings | select quotes" and just didn't think it about it again. It appears Quicken is still updating the price history. I just re-enabled the BCD in "select quotes". It still only shows 33 out of 34, but the actual BCD value is being updated! So, yes there is an issue but it doesn't matter as the price issue is being updated.
Thank you for the reply and Quicken Alyssa for the reminder. I'm sorry for being so delinquent.
@jimshu1 the reason why you are seeing 33 of 34 quotes being updated but BCD is being updated is that the price for BCD is being updated from Fidelity's update file (via OSU) and not from Quicken's pricing feed. That's how brokered CD prices are typically updated. Also, you can safely uncheck the "Download Quotes" so you won't see the "33 of 34" warning message. BCD will still be priced properly.
Great! Thanks for the info.!👍️
