Amazon Purchase import

I started to use the New Amazon Purchase Import Function on my Windows 11 desktop in Outlook. It is really horrible and makes it even more difficult to know what Amazon has shipped to me. I want to disable it. Can someone please advise me how to get rid of it?

Thanks for your question!

If you haven't done so already, I recommend following the steps outlined in our Support Article on Using Retail Purchase Categorization to turn this feature off.

To disable Retail Purchase Categorization:

Go to Edit > Preferences > Retail Purchase Categorization.
Turn the feature off.

Once disabled, Amazon transactions will no longer be automatically split and categorized.
You can turn the feature back on at any time if you choose.

I did that but my emails from Amazon are still coming in with the quicken designations and as a result i can no longer see what was shipped by amazon. I want these back to normal as well.

@Lewis Bernstein I have also noticed that starting about July 1st the notification emails from Amazon are less specific about what is coming - "Ordered: 1 hardware item" rather than the name of the item. This is apparently to help preserve our privacy. As far as I know there is no way to change that and it is not related to Quicken's Retail Purchase Categorization. You can still go to Amazon's Your Orders page to see what is coming or has arrived recently.

This has only changed since I installed the quicken retail purchase Categorization. Quicken needs to advise us how to reove it so that we can get back to normal. It is a real problem for me.

Hi @Lewis Bernstein, as @Jim_Harman said, this has nothing to do with Quicken. This also happened to my sister, who does not use Quicken, at around the same time it happened to me. There is a Reddit thread about this where the original poster provides escalation instructions for people who are frustrated with Amazon's change:

Amazon's explanation that they did this for privacy is not resonating and people have other theories as to why Amazon did this, such as thwarting Google from learning about shopping trends via their automated gmail analysis bots.

It started happening to me as well and I've never turned on quick on Amazon integration. Does not appear to be a quick issue as others have said

That's how I categorize my Amazon purchases—I log on to Amazon, go to my Orders, pull up the invoice and use the breakdown to assign the correct categories to the downloaded purchase.
