When you start up Quicken, the display defaults to the Home tab with Dashboard selected. The default shows 7 panels such as Top Spending Categories, Top Payees, etc. The panels can be changed and edited but the options are too limited.
- Panel Selection - Only predefined panels can be used
- Panel Customization - Modifying the contents to display is very limited
- Panel Title - You cannot change the panel's title to describe the modifications
- Panel Arrangement - Panels are arranged in a table. A panel uses one row with one or more adjacent columns. You can move the panel's position but not change its size.
The first three restrictions could be solved by allowing custom reports to be used as panels. The 4th could be addressed by letting the user specify the number of rows and columns for the panel.
