How about making tax planner a projection tool into future years? So, for example, in mid 2026, I could bring up the 2027 planner and make projections based on what if's like income changes, W4 changes, or the like?
Except that even Turbotax doesn't offer that … so I can't envision much of a future for this suggestion.
I use the Scenarios feature to do that in Tax Planner. You can game out different tax scenarios for the current year or future years. Keep in mind tax rates for future years will be different so if you want to project those in a scenario, you have to make your own guess.
Scenarios is an existing feature that can be useful for tax planning.
