Quicken Fail: Unable to restore an individual Account from Backup

Question

The inability to restore an individual account from backup is a mystery to me.

Why restore the entire file to recover an individual account? Doesn't seem like it should be an insurmountable problem.

There must be a work-around.

Any chance it can be corrected in an upcoming program update?

Trying to review historic income trends. Bank created new accounts a few years ago after a merger and the 'old' account got deleted from Q. Trying to get it back from an old backup.

Q backups, and restores, work on an "entire file" basis.   Always have, and probably always will.

So, I doubt there will ever be  a program update to provide this.

The work around is to restore to a different file name, export the particular account and import it to a different account name … but then you've got the problem of handling transfers.

SO, what's the specific issue that's leading your to want this?
