I can currently make entries manually in Quicken 2017, and they can be saved. But when I try to update the downloads from my banks (BMO, Tangerine, and RBC, all in Canada), two messages pop up in separate boxes:
Message 1: Please wait while Windows configures Quicken (Nothing happens.)
Message 2: There are Quicken components currently open, and can not be uninstalled. Please close Quicken, and try uninstalling again. (I have no idea what I am supposed to do.)
I am not especially tech-savvy. I don't know why I am getting these messages, nor why my downloads don't work. Everything ran fine until the latest update, so I can only assume that is the cause of the problem.
When I look under Quicken's Release Notes, it says Version Installed: R67.8 April, 2026, at the top of the screen. But immediately below this is a description of Version R68.32 (July, 2026) and the details about what's new, improved, and fixed, so I assume that's the actual version I'm running. I am on a PC laptop running under Windows 11.
Decades ago, I learned about using a system restore point, so I wondered if that might fix my problem. I only had 3 backup points from which to choose, so I selected the earliest. For some reason (I forget why), it could not be used, so I selected the next most recent one. After 1.5 hours, my computer was ready. Unfortunately, there was no difference in Quicken. I can still download files from my banks, but they cannot update Quicken.
Can anyone help?
