Problem with Paycheck entry

Hello all,

My paycheck was entered accurately in a checking account and included a deposit to a savings account. For some reason, Quicken messed up which account when it matched the registry entry with the downloaded transaction. When I altered the account, it created a separate registry entry that is not included in the paycheck. So, now I have a registry entry in a savings account that is associated with a registry entry in the checking account that is not included in the paycheck entry in the checking account. How do I get the entry in the checking account to match within the Paycheck entry? I don't know why there is no entry in the savings account that is associated with the checking account's Paycheck entry.

Hello Alyssa,

I think those instructions would alter any future income reminders. The paycheck transaction has already been entered into the Quicken register. I click on the 'split' button and here is the screenshot of the view showing the $93.34 that should be a matching transfer in the 'savings' account (image 1). The second image shows a downloaded transaction in the savings account register of the same amount. But, the 3rd image shows that it is matched to an uncleared transaction in the checking register. The savings account transaction should be matched to the split transaction in the paycheck.

Thank you for sharing your experience!

If I understand you correctly, you have entered a transfer to your savings account from the split on your paycheck reminder, and the transfer is not going into the savings account. Is this correct?

If so, please go to Bills & Income in your Quicken software. From there, locate the paycheck reminder and click the Edit button on the far right.

Choose Edit this instance and all future instances. Then a window will open with the reminder details. Click the "Details" section to open a smaller window, where you can click the split symbol to view the splits assigned to this transaction.

Now you should be looking at your splits. Paychecks usually include various tax deductions. If you have allocated money to another account, that should show in here as the name of that account in brackets.
