Verizon Biller No Longer Supported

Like many others, I've struggled getting Verizon to function properly as a online biller. I know many of us have posted here about it and voiced your dissatisfaction over this failure. Turns out Quicken has decided to drop support for it. I came across this in the Announcement section.

I doubt it is Quicken Inc that decided to drop it, more likely Verizon told their bill payment service provider to get lost. Which then informed Quicken Inc of that decision.

When all else fails …

I recommend you logon directly to the Verizon website and authorize them to direct debit (aka PAC Draft, Autopay, APS, etc.) the next and all future payments from your checking account or a credit card. The Verizon computer system will do all the work for you to make an electronic debit on the due date and you don't have to worry about being late.

In Quicken unlink the bill and just record a scheduled reminder which does not execute as an online payment into your account register on or before the Due Date and before you download transactions from the bank or credit card containing the payment transactions. That will allow Quicken to match your register transaction to the downloaded data and not cause any further issues.

SoCal Gas Company still fails on enrollment. SoCal Edison worked on the old system and is not even listed on the new one. Makes me wonder how many other billers will get dropped.

I never used bill pay. Payment has always been done by autopay on the biller's own site.
