I noticed today that in "Bills and Reminders" Quicken had a long list of suggested reminders. I had not been seeing these since I had to scroll down to see them, and so the list was quite long. For each one I was supposed to answer "yes" or "no" as to whether I wanted to add them to the list of scheduled reminders. Most of these were not regular transactions and so I clicked "no" for those. All the others I clicked "yes." All of these were regular payments from my checking account or else regular charges to a credit card. After creating these I clicked on a few of the new reminders to enter them into the registers as a test. All of them were entered incorrectly with the wrong sign. That is, they all came up as income rather than expenses, and thus moved the balance in the wrong direction. All of the entries on the reminder list prior to this were either "payment" (for an expense or credit card charge) or "deposit" for income. On the reminder list I notice that instead of being recorded as "payment" these new reminders are recorded as "customer invoice." I tried editing these to convert them to "payment" type, but the "Type" dropdown box in the edit dialog did not have any choices available at all, let alone a "payment" type.
Quicken presumably is looking at the past transactions to populate the list of suggested reminders. So if a past transaction is a credit card charge or deduction from my checking account, why isn't it being entered into the reminder list as a "payment?" And how can I convert these "customer invoices" into "payments?"
