Why does the annual budget view start on December using Quicken on the Web?

Using Quicken Classic (v9.1.1) on my Mac, the budget for 2026 starts on Jan 2026, which makes sense to me. Looking at Quicken on the Web (using Firefox), the annual budget view for 2026 starts Dec. 2025, which seems whack. Note, today I reset my cloud account data so it mirrors the data from Quicken Classic and I toggled the Mobile and Web sync setting. None of that made a difference when I checked Quicken on the web. How do I fix this?

Thank you for providing those details.

Please check whether the data file you’re viewing in the web version is the same one you’re using in the desktop app by following these steps:

In the web version:

Select the profile icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen. This should display the first letter of your name inside a circle.

Under My Cloud Accounts, you’ll find a list of your data files.
The data file currently in use will have a check mark (√) next to it.

In the desktop app:

Go to the Quicken menu.
Select Settings.

Click Connected Services.
Check the Cloud Account nickname and confirm that it matches the data file shown in the web version.

Also, could you please confirm whether you’re using the monthly or annual view?

When I do as you suggest I see only one data file QDATA used by QC and QotW. As for the budget view I'm looking at annual for both QC and QotW.

I just looked at my test data file on Quicken Web and saw the same thing.

It seems that if you have you have never changed your Edit → Preferences → Calendar and currency → Calendar year setting in Quicken Desktop, Quicken Web sees this as that the year should start on December, which is a strange thing to do, I would even say it is some kind of bug.

If I switched to Fiscal year with the starting month of January and then sync both the Desktop and then the Web, it gets the right starting month.

I was able to also to switch back to Calendar year and sync them again and it held at January.

I don't see the Calendar year setting you describe in Quicken Classic for Mac that I am using. I looked around at different settings but can't find it. I then did a google search and the AI responded with "Unlike the Windows version, Quicken for Mac operates strictly on a standard January-to-December calendar year and does not include a global preference toggle to change to a custom fiscal year. To view non-calendar timeframes or specific yearly data, you must manually adjust date ranges inside individual reports or customize your financial calendar view.". I may be stuck until the Quicken devs. fix this bug.

I wasn’t able to replicate this behavior. I also noticed that the workaround mentioned above appears to apply to Quicken for Windows, as the Calendar Year/Fiscal Year settings referenced there aren’t available in the Mac version.

Since you’re using Quicken for Mac, could you please try creating a new test budget and then check it in Quicken on the Web? This will help determine whether the issue is specific to your existing budget or data file, or if the same behavior occurs with a newly created budget. Before making any changes, please save a backup of your data file.

To create a new budget:

Go to Budget.
Select New Budget.
Enter a name for the budget and select the starting date.
Sync your file with the web and check whether the new budget behaves the same way.

If the new test budget also starts in December when viewed on the Web, please let us know. This will help us determine whether the issue is specific to the Web experience and can be reproduced independently of your existing budget.

Creating a new budget for 2026 in QC and syncing fixes the budget issue in QotW with the budget starting in Jan.

It appears the issue may be specific to the original budget, which may not have synced the correct starting date. Since the new budget is working as expected, I recommend continuing to use it.

How do I get the many budget values that I spent a lot of time working on in the QC 2026 budget, that isn't displaying correctly in QotW, into this new budget? I do not see an option when creating a new budget to import budget values from an existing budget.
