Corporate name change in several accounts

Quicken Deluxe desktop in Windows 11

EXXON MOBIL Corp name change to EXXONMOBIL HOLDINGS corp on 7/1/2026

I have EXXON Mobil Corp shares in several different investment accounts in the same Quicken file. When a corporation changes it name as EXXON did but keeps the same symbol do I need to enter a corporate name change transaction in each account, or is there a way to record the name change and date once somewhere and it will reflect everywhere that equity exists?

Echoing the comment  from @q_lurker.  I hold multiple Fidelity mutual funds …  including a number of their Select fund.   The official name of all Fidelity funds start with "Fidelity", and the Select funds start with "Fidelity Select".

In Q, I drop the term Fidelity completely (I know where they're from) and "Select" is shortened to just "Sel".  The rest of the fund names get shortened in a similar fashion.

Doing the Corp name change will apply to all accounts, both historical and future transactions.  If there is. CUSIP change, you will need to uncheck the ‘Matched’ box for the security and then rematch on the next download.

Also, the security name is not really important; it does not need to match what the brokerage uses.
