I am running Classic Deluxe. The list of files which normally appears on the left has disappeared.
Where is it and how do I retrieve it?

Are you referring to the list of accounts on the left-hand side of your Quicken?
If so, you have probably inadvertently ended up in a different data file than the one you normally use. To get back to the last file you were in, go to File. At the bottom of the menu, you will see the files you have opened most recently numbered 1-4. #1 is the file that you are currently in. #2 will be the file you were in right before the current file, and so on. I suggest selecting #2 and seeing if that's the file you are used to seeing.
