Unable to enter RSUs from my company through E-Trade/Morgan Stanley
My Company, Cisco Systems, Inc. rewards Restricted Stock Units (RSU) grant and it's schedule is always like this: First vesting event after a year (on a certain date) and then every 3 months, lasting over 3 years. The quantities are different in each vesting event. I'll post an example below:
Currently, Quicken provides me with the following 4 methods but neither of these 4 or the Manual method works and here is why:
- Standard: Allows first vesting on a certain date with percentage and then every 3 months, spanning over 36 months but for a percentage, the quantity doesn't come out correctly. So I need quantity instead of % of shares for each vesting event.
- Gradient: Allows a certain percentage for each vesting period (which is different in my use case) but spreads around 10 year, not in 36 months like E-trade
- Specify Units: Allows specific units (like for my use case) but spreads around 10 year, not in 36 months like E-trade
- Single: Total # of RSUs vested on a single vesting date
- Manual: No vesting event present, so I am unable to add my vested RSUs

Here is exactly what I need:
How long from the grant date until you are fully vested? : "36" months
First vest "96" (count, not percentage) on 11/10/2024, then vest every "3" months but in the following quantity:
2nd vesting event: 23
3rd vesting event: 24
4th vesting event: 23
5th vesting event: 24
6th vesting event: 23
7th vesting event: 24
8th vesting event: 23
9th vesting event: 24
When using the "Standard" method (it provides the closest results) and using a precise percentage that can give me 96 shares for the first vesting event, the # of shares for each following vesting event doesn't match the actual calendar.
Tried using the option "Extended share precision (8 digits vs. rounding to 6)" with and without with no success.
Also, used "Round vesting events to whole number of shares" but didn't get the desired results.
In the "First vest %" box, it doesn't allow 8 digits after the decimal, only 7, and does not accept this value: 33.8028169; "33.802817" worked but resulted in an incorrect share count (percentage of 284 total RSUs).
- In any "RSU Vest" line item in Quicken, if I change the date or quantity of shares, it adds an additional line item with "MiscExp" as "Other Income" totaling "0" (Which I can probably delete, as it is not needed). The reason could be that I have to enter some additional fields like "Price per share at vesting" (I added zero) and "Account to Receive Shares" values.
- It also changes the "RSU Vest" line item to a "Bought" entry
- Not sure why the last entry shares are in fractions (possibly a leftover fraction from the first entry)
- Also, the date of the last vesting event is off by a few days, and here is why: It is counting 36 months from the "RSU Grant" "Transaction Date," which comes to be 11/08/2026, not the first vesting period (11/10/2024), which is not the case in the actual schedule.
Of course I have a subscription, but I have never connected to banks, credit cards, or online investment companies. I tried to connect to E-trade but they do not provide "Complete" investing, only "Simple" investing. Please help me find a workaround or add a feature in Quicken! I have opened several cases with Quicken Support and no one has been able to help me.
