Kroger Mastercard issued by US Bank

If anyone, besides me, has this card, you should have already received notice that Kroger and USB are parting ways … and USB will be issuing a different card to replace it in your wallet.

I haven't received that new card, but when I tried to download onto the prior card, I got a "card not identified" (or some similar wording) error this morning.

I went to USB's website and saw the card was till there … but with a different card number.

SO, in Q, I deactivated the card from downloads and reactivated it (being SURE to "Link to Existing account") and was able to download from the new card account without issue.

Something similar to this process (perhaps the same) would apply to QMac also.

Thank you, @NotACPA , for providing these troubleshooting steps for reconnecting the new card. I’m sure this information will be helpful to other users experiencing the same situation.

For Windows

First, you'll need to deactivate the affected accounts:

1. Select Tools > Account List
2. If present, select the Show Hidden Accounts checkbox at the bottom of the Account List
3. Select Edit on each account with this error and Deactivate them on the Online Services tab
4. When finished, close the Account List.

Second, reactivate the accounts:

1. Select Tools > Add Account
2. Complete the flow of re-adding the deactivated accounts to Quicken, using your bank login credentials and answering any security questions.
3. When you reach the screen listing the accounts discovered at the financial institution, use the Action drop-downs to re-link your accounts:
   • For accounts you want to re-link, select Link to existing account and choose the corresponding account to re-link with.
   • Select Add to Quicken for new accounts you didn't previously track in Quicken.
   • For accounts you don't want to link or add, select Don't add to Quicken.

For Mac

First, deactivate the affected accounts:

1. Click on the account name for your account(s) in the Accounts toolbar in Quicken.
2. Click the Settings icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
3. Click on the Downloads tab.
4. Click on Disconnect Account.
5. Click Done.
6. Repeat these steps for each affected account until they are all deactivated.

Then, reactivate the accounts:

1. Select Accounts menu > Add Account....
2. Enter the name of your bank, then click Continue.
3. Enter the required sign-in credentials you use to access your accounts, and then click Continue.
4. Answer any security questions, etc. required by your bank to sign in, and click Continue.
5. Once Quicken has discovered your list of accounts, you will have the option to link them to the existing accounts already in Quicken.
   • In the Action section of the Connect Account(s) window, select the appropriate existing account to link.
   • If there is an account you would like to not connect in Quicken, select Ignore from the dropdown.

6. Once you have linked all existing accounts for this bank, click on Continue to complete the activation process for your accounts, and then click Finish.
