After multiple uses of the find and replace window, Quicken slows down. Quicken memory usage increases from 92.5 MB 140 MB to 160 MB and more as response slows. I paused what I was doing, backed up Quicken and exited. Quicken would not restart. I rebooted the system and Quicken would start again.
I am attempting to reduce the number of categories by some leaf categories to tags. Leaf categories like Tax:Fed:2025 can be replaced with Tax:Fed and a tag of 2025 and a note in the Memo field if needed. The new window for managing categories lacks useful category operations except for delete. If the main window does not allow updates. Multiple clicks are required to reach the rabbit-hole editor. An older window exists and appears in some workflow paths. That window stopped being usable twenty years ago.
Has anyone else seen Quicken fail to start unless Windows 11 is rebooted? Quicken is running on new workstation with an Intel Xeon processor and a capable NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada Generation (16 GB) graphics card. Why is Quicken struggling to display and taking excessive time to do relatively simple operations?
