Navy Federal Credit Union no longer supports .QFX account downloads

Question

At the beginning of August 2026, NFCU changed their online banking program and removed the ability to download account information in .qfx format.  I have been using Quicken Deluxe since it first came out on floppy disk, and started using online banking as soon as that was available.  When I called NFCU, they mentioned something about a contract issue with Quicken, so this may be more of a management issue than a software problem.  Is anything being done to convince NFCU to restore the .qfx download capability?  Right now, they only support .pdf and .csv downloads, so it's extremely difficult to reconcile accounts.

@JWalk your profile says you are using Q2017. Q2017 lost the ability to import transactions via Web Connect (QFX) back in April 2020.  If you are actually using a current subscription version, you may want to update your profile to reflect that info.

I did this on 8/28 and it worked but no longer works as of 9/3/26. So will we have to remove accounts & set them up as new every time?

Recommend you set up your NFCU accounts for One Step Update or Update Now from the account register. Performed regularly daily (or at least once a week), this works much more reliably than QFX downloads with a data range and the potential for duplicate downloaded transactions.

* Make sure you have (or create) a backup of your Quicken data file.
* Now go to Tools / Add Account and follow the procedure to activate your accounts. 
* When you get to a screen listing all the accounts found at the bank be sure to LINK the bank accounts to the already existing Quicken account registers. If you don't link correctly you won't like the results.
* The first download after an account activation usually downloads transactions for the last 30 - 90 days. You may have to perform some cleanup to eliminate duplicate downloaded transactions.
