Capitol One Download

Question

When I try to download transactions for my Capitol One savings account and CD's and import them, Quicken says "unable to verify financial institution".      Transactions for my credit card work fine.     This may have been going on for a while, as I only download the savings and CD's once a year.

What's the problem?    What can I do about it?

CapOne goes by multiple names in Q, and they don't all support the same account types.

SO, when you do TOOLS, Account List …what shows in the "Transaction Download", "Last Download" and "Financial Institution" columns next to your Savings and CD accounts?

And, BTW, it's frequently suggested that CDs be held in an Investment account in Q, rather than setting up a new Q account for each CD.  Doing so simply reduces "account clutter" since CD's are comparatively short-term (when compared to, say, checking or savings accounts).

Same problem as your other discussion with Bank of America - Quicken

Capital One no longer supports QFX transaction downloads.

You should use Tools / Add Account to activate all these accounts for downloading with One Step Update or Update Now from the account register Actions icon. Do so weekly or at least once a month.

If you have unimported transactions sitting around in QFX files, change the file's INTU.BID number to a bank number which still supports QFX Webconnect, import into a temporary new account and then move all transactions (except Opening Balance) to the desired destination account
