I opened Quicken to do my routine daily end-of-day sync at 5 pm.
Quicken somehow added a duplicate for every single security I have in my Chase Invest brokerage account.
I restored from a 2-day-old automatic backup. Tried to sync again; it says, "This backup isn't linked to your cloud something. I would have to basically unlink the more recent synced one (the one that failed today) in order to link this one. I chose Yes.
Synced again; again, it doubled my Chase Investment account.
I waited 3 hours, restored from the same 2-day-old backup. Hit Sync, it says "you don't have a Cloud account", says I should Setup a new cloud account.
I searched this forum; someone back in July 2026 posted the same issue with restoring from a backup and encountered "cloud account not found".
So I set up a new cloud account. Some info was there, and I tried to reconnect the accounts. Chase Invest is still doing the same thing!
Now I am just too frustrated to have to deal with a problem that came out of nowhere, completely not of my own doing. Every time I opened and closed the software in the last few hours trying to fix this, it would make a new backup, so my good 2-day-old backup is about to be erased too.
What do I do?
