I had wanted to add up some numbers in Excel for some analysis on a particular credit card account, but for that I needed the posting date.
As many of us know, we can't include a transaction's posting date in Quicken reports.
I did already know that if you "copy" transaction(s) from a register, by right-clicking on the transactions or pressing the little gear button in the register entry, I could paste into a text editor and get some information.
So, I decided to try pasting into Excel, and to my surprise, not only did it paste, but it actually correctly put the register columns into Excel columns and added headers:
(Note that I intentionally shortened some of the columns in this screenshot because this is a public forum and my personal data, but you get the idea)
It is documented here, but Quicken seems to just really be mentioning it in passing. I think it's a useful feature.
