Frequent posts to checking do not correctly clear splits and erroneously save previous amounts

I regularly shop at QFC (a Northwest grocery store) and post my transactions as varying numbers of splits between Groceries & Misc, Wine, or Entertainment. Quicken has recently stopped allowing me to clear forecast split lines and has been repeatedly reverting to the last total amount. I am using Quicken Windows 27.1.69.25.

I have some follow-up questions for you:

• How long has this issue been happening?
• Was this working the way you wanted at one time?
• Were there any significant changes to your system at the time the issue began?

One thing you can check is your Memorized Payees. You can edit a memorized payee to update transaction details, add or remove rules, or lock values you want to keep unchanged. This helps you control how Quicken fills in fields for both new and downloaded transactions.

Open the Memorized Payee List

1. Go to Tools > Memorized Payee List.
2. Select the payee you want to change.
3. Click Edit.

Update payee details

In the edit window, you can change:

• Payee name
• Category, tag, or memo
• Transaction type
• Address or amount
• Cleared status
• Lock status to prevent changes to blank or prefilled fields

Check your Memorized Payees to see if you have previous split information saved. If you do, remove it and see if the behavior changes. I have linked two articles with more information on Memorized Payees above in blue; please open them for more detailed information.
