my settlement split transaction keep getting deleted.

Question

We bought a new home and had settlement two weeks ago. In my home asset, I have the transfer of funds where I entered my home settlement itemized costs three times. The split transactions disappeared every time.  I saved the transactions each time. I have used Quicken for over a decade. Does anyone have an idea how to prevent this from happening?

@barbmcgq I think I know what you are experiencing.  The same thing happened to my settlement transaction.  I don't think you can prevent it from happening.  It seems to be working as designed.  In my situation -

As you can see, instead of three separate transfer transactions in the escrow account, there is only one collapsed transfer transaction.  Originally, the collapsed transfer only pulled the memo from the first of the three transfers - "Prepay 3 months".  I manually changed it to "Initial Escrow Deposit".

Can you describe in more detail what happened?

Did you enter a split transaction in the house asset account and the whole transaction disappeared, is the transaction there but the splits disappeared, or what?

Are you able to enter split transactions in other accounts?

Also please go to Help > About Quicken and let us know what version of Quicken you are running. There have been reports that in the current version, R69.26, people are having trouble entering some split transactions, apparently related to the new percentage column.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing.

The transactions may still be in your register but are currently hidden by a view setting. Please try checking your sorting order and filters using these steps:

1. Verify the Sort Order: Click the top of the Date column in your account register. This ensures your transactions are sorted chronologically rather than alphabetically or by another metric.

2. Clear Active Filters: Look at the top of your register. If a filter is currently applied, you will see a Reset button. Click it to clear any active filters.

If your sorting is correct and no filters are applied, we may need to look into your file configuration. Could you please let me know:

* Where is your Quicken data file located? To check, please open Quicken and go to File. At the bottom of the menu, the file with the check mark next to it is the one currently open. Please let me know the full file path shown there.

* Is your file being backed up/ synced by any third-party services like Carbonite, OneDrive, or Backblaze?
