Persistent CC-501 error w/zzz Bank of America-All Other States, and reauthorize of acct

Question

With each one-step update, I get this CC-501 error. In parallel, I'm asked every time to authorize one BOA account. The authorization process completes each time, along with my 5 other BOA accounts. Everything looks normal until another one-step update, at which time I'm asked to reauthorize the same account. I get a confirmation email from BOA each time stating I approved the sharing of data. I'm on the current revision R69.26 in Windows 11.

zzz-prefaced financial institutions are temporary transitional financial institutions that are needed to accommodate some change the financial institution is making to their download connection process.  An example of this is when the financial institution is migrating their EWC connection method to the newer EWC+ connection method so the connection for set up, connecting, and downloading transactions is different.

During the migration transition the financial institution will often support both the original process and the new process.  The original process will preface the financial institution with zzz- while the new process will have a financial institution that is not prefaced with zzz-.  This is to give users time to make the transition perhaps on their own schedule and to ensure all users can be transitioned in an orderly manner.  It also gives Quicken, Intuit (the aggregator) and the financial institution time to ensure there is a back-up connection method in case there are initial issues with the new connection.

When a certain amount of time has passed those zzz- financial institutions eventually can have problematic functionality.  When that begins to happen it is usually only a very short while before that zzz- financial institution no longer exists in Quicken and will not work at all.

It sounds to me like your accounts were not transitioned to the new BOA connection method that was introduced a few months ago and it might be that the zzz - Bank of American financial institution is about to be decommissioned.  So, you probably need to switch your connection from zzz - Bank of America to the new Bank of America.

@ThommyLee is the account closed?  Usually those FIs with zzz attached to their names are old, obsolete, or broken connections.  I would go to your Account List, check "Show hidden accounts", and look for any closed accounts with that FI Name still attached to them.  If you find any, click on "Edit" and go to the Online Services tab and click "Deactivate".  Then on the General tab, blank out the FI Name and Account Number.
