Merrill Lynch accounts update issues

About a month ago, my 2 Merrill Lynch accounts stopped updating, and the register changed to simple investing. I have tried the posted remedies and have reset the accounts with Bank of America multiple times. These accounts never had an issue before for many years.

Is this a known issue, and what is the fix?

Thank you for reaching out! To start troubleshooting, please confirm which connection option you are using to update your Merrill Lynch accounts. Your description suggests you're using the Bank of America connection. If so, that may be the reason for the issue. Although Merrill Lynch is under the same parent company, you may be able to add the accounts under the Bank of America connection options; however, it may not be the best option for that type of account. I recommend using one of the Merrill Lynch connection options if you aren't already.

If you need to switch to a new connection option, backup your Quicken file, deactivate your Merrill Lynch accounts, navigate to Tools>Add Account, and follow the prompts. Carefully link the accounts to the existing account in Quicken. If any Bank of America accounts show up, make sure to mark them "Don't Add to Quicken". That will prevent them from being switched to the Merrill Lynch connection option.
