Environment: Quicken Classic for Mac (Business & Personal), Version 9.2.2, Build 902.61860.100. macOS 26.6.2.
Issue: I linked a Gemini crypto brokerage account. It showed correct values at first. On 9/19/26, I noticed the account's Market Value had jumped from the real balance (~$6,726) to over $6,011,490.29. This also happened once before, about 2 months ago, shortly after I first linked the account.
Root cause found: Quicken's automatic price download pulled in wildly incorrect prices for three securities in the account:
- IMX: 435.080526 units. Correct price (Gemini) $0.1394. Quicken downloaded $13,814.65 — about 99,100x too high.
- - Bitcoin (BTC): 0.08136018 units. Correct price (Gemini) $81,798. Quicken downloaded $35.91 — about 2,278x too low.
- - USD: 11.36131 units. Correct price $1.00. Quicken downloaded $88.21 — about 88x too high.
These three errors combined inflated the account's total Market Value by roughly 894x.
What I did: I manually corrected the Price History entries for all three securities using the actual Gemini prices, which restored the account to $6,727.27 (matching Gemini within normal price movement). I then turned OFF "Download Quotes" for this account/these securities to prevent the automatic feed from overwriting the correction again.
What I need from Quicken: Since this has now happened twice with the same account, I believe there's a bug in the price-download/quote-matching logic for these securities (possibly a decimal-place or unit mismatch, or a bad ticker-symbol match). I'd like this investigated and fixed so I can safely re-enable automatic quote downloads without my data getting silently corrupted again. I have a full written report with screenshots of the before/after numbers, which I also sent to Quicken Support via chat/email (case with agent Aroldo, 9/19/26) — happy to attach or forward it here as well if useful.
