Combined two IRA brokerage accounts into one

Question

I am running Quicken Premier for Mac.  In my same brokerage account I had two IRA Accounts .  I combined into just one IRA account .  My Etrade brokerage account does show it being moved , however the transactions in both accounts in Quicken does not reflect the change .

In Q under Security /Payee indicates " XFER units of CRWD " ( Crowdstrike is one of the stocks I have merged .  Under description/ category  it shows " Transfer " .  However the account I have merged is still showing the same number of shares , and the one I am merging it to ( I had all of the same stocks ) has not increased the number of shares .

I was thinking of just changing the transaction to " Add shares " in the one account that's active , and " Remove shares " in the one that I have merged out of .

Any suggestions ?

My issue is Quicken upload did not enter " a remove and add in the proper accounts "  . I have the same amount of shares .  Transfer shows as the " Description/ category "

I believe your idea would work, so long as the number of shares out and then in match. (They might differ if Etrade transfers out only whole number quantities of a security and converts the remaining fractional share into cash.) However, if you were to instead save the transaction as "Transfer" action, Quicken will still enter a a Remove and an Add in the proper accounts, AND retain your cost basis information.  Entering them as Remove and Add yourself, will lose this data, as I understand it.
