What is going on here? Reconciling out of balance despite everything matching

Question

The balances match. The payments and charges match the statement. All totals match.

There are no discrepancies or balance adjustments in reconciliation history. I have no idea where quicken is calculating this difference from. I just completed months of reconciliations before this with no errors. Now I'm stuck and can't move forward. Am I being punked?

@mjfaulkner I am not a Quicken Mac user, but I will gently point out that the balances you show do not match.  One is a negative 154.37 and the other a positive 154.37.  If "Self-reported" means manually input, enter a positive 154.37 rather than a negative number.  Otherwise, I will respectfully defer to a Quicken Mac user to determine the 'how' or 'why' and the solution.

Thank you! You solved my dilemma. This is a credit card account that had a CREDIT on the statement because my wife and I inadvertently overpaid on the prior statement. That credit needed to be entered as a NEGATIVE account balance on the self-reported statement balance. That simple change made the balances match. Thank you so much!

It's a little head-spinning that a positive statement balance needed to be entered as a negative number in quicken in order to show up as a positive number in order to match the quicken balance in the screenshot, but there it s.

It does make sense - when you have a normal (negative) statement balance and you go to reconcile, you don't enter it as a negative number but as a positive number; Quicken then inverts the sign and turns it in to a negative. So when you have a positive balance you enter it as a negative number and then Quicken inverts the sign to make it positive.
