Anyone know how to enter the merger security exchange yet?
ONEOK INC (effective 9/11/2026) 1 new - FALCON INC for 1 old?
Apparently OKE security name stays the same.

Hello @wdnkl,
Thank you for reaching out! What kind of merger is this? For example, if it's due to a corporate acquisition, this article will help you document it: https://info.quicken.com/win/how-do-i-record-a-corporate-acquisition-stock-for-
I look forward to your reply!
I researched & this is what I found:
No, the ONEOK merger with Falcon TopCo is not an acquisition of ONEOK by another company; it is an internal holding company reorganization.
🔄 Reorganization vs. Acquisition
My statement from my brokerage shows:
9/11/2026 Merger Security Exchanged OKE ONEOK Inc COM 300 (Qty) Amt: 0.00 USD
9/11/2026 Merger Security Exchanged (682680103) ONEOK INC S M EFF 9/11/2026 1 NEW CU 30609A109 FALCON TOPCO INC FOR 1 OLD -300 (Qty) Amt: 0.00 USD
Hope this helps

Kristina,
Your instructions are for a Corporate Acquisition. This is NOT a Corporate Acquisition. It is a an Internal Holding Company REORGANIZATION. How do I enter this?
Your instructions about a Corporate Acquisition says:
A Corporate name change can cause the name of the security to change. (There is no name change).
I am leary to enter as an Acquisition when it isn't an Acquisition, but a Internal Reorganization. In other words, if I enter OKE as the acquired company by Falcon TopCo, then this will cause the name of the security to change to Falcon TopCo which is actually the Holding Co. Therefore, this can cause the name of the security to change, when the name hasn't changed (OKE) as your instructions say.
As a "workaround" should I enter an an Acquisition as OKE swap 100 shares for 100 shares OKE. Would this work? Seems odd to me there is no way to show a Internal Reorganization
Sorry for being slow on the uptake….Let me know what you think.
I just tried the instructions of the Acquisition you recommended. It does no work. I input Company Acquired as OKE and when I input Falcon TopCo Inc…Q says no security found with that name. Makes sense since it isn't a security, but a Holding Company.
I tried again using OKE as company Acquired & I input OKE as the acquiring company. For shares issued: 300 shares. Price per share $0.00.
The result showing in the Investing Tab for OKE shows: - 90,000 shares (!) - Ave Cost .063879 - Market Value: $8,082,000 - Cost Basis: $5749.11- Gain/Loss: $8,076,250.89 - Gain/Loss %: 140,478.28% !!!!!!! LOL!
Needless to say…input as an acquisition does not work….I deleted that & will not record anything since it was an Internal Reorganization & nothing really changed re price or amount of shares. It's basically a "wash".
Thank you for your replies,
What exactly are you trying to document in Quicken? It appears that the name, symbol, value, and number of shares did not change.
If the account is connected in Quicken, the transactions you saw on your statement should download once the financial institution makes that information available to Quicken.
Thank you!
I don't download from the financial institutions. My Brokerage does not do that.
I thought I had to document it as an Internal Reorganization, which I mentioned in the first place due to the change of Holding Co, and there were 100 shares in & 100 shares out noted in my statement, which threw me off. It seems you misunderstood, since you directed me to handle it as an Acquisition. Anyway, there was a Mandatory Reorganization Fee, which I did enter, so I am going to leave it at that.
Btw, I marked your reply "unhelpful". I was referring to your reply about handling it as an acquisition, not personally. You did try to help.
Thank you anyway for your time,

Thank you for the follow-up,
Thank you for clarifying. Since your original post mentioned a merger but didn't specify it was an internal reorganization, I suggested the corporate acquisition function as a possible fit if it involved an acquisition.
I'm glad to hear you were able to document it, and thank you for sharing what you did!
If you need further assistance, please feel free to reach out!
@wdnkl Most likely, your FI downloaded the in and out shares because there was a change in the CUSIP associated with reorganization. Be alert for some type of security mismatch with future downloads, in which case you may need to uncheck the security detail box about matched with online security.
My Brokerage doesn't do download to my Q. I manually reconcile monthly. I was trying what Kristina recommended. But beside all that gobbledy gook, you are right, I did notice the change in CUSIP which is why I thought maybe I had to manually do something re the reorganization, yet the shares was 1 for 1 equaling $0.00 which confused me. If nothing else, I learned from this. Thx for your input.
