I have gone into Tools three times and set the scheduled one-step update to run. I always have to do this after a Quicken update, but this is the first time it has refused to run.
Hi @Ewm101,
Thanks for taking the time to post in the Quicken Community.
Scheduled One Step Updates require certain conditions to be met in order to run. To help us better understand why your scheduled updates aren't running, could you please clarify a few things?
I also suggest verifying that your scheduled updates are enabled by following the steps outlined in our support article on What if my scheduled updates failed to run at the time I specified?
I look forward to your reply!
No error message.
Quicken background agent process is running.
All financial institutions are selected.
I have not had this problem before and I've been using Quicken for more than 30 years.
Hi @Ewm101, Thanks for answering the questions above! According to our support article on scheduled updates, Quicken must be completely closed for scheduled updates to run. If Quicken is still running in the background, the scheduled update may not start.
To check for and close any remaining Quicken processes, please follow these steps:
Once you've completed these steps, please check whether your scheduled update runs as expected and let us know the results.
It is my understanding from reading Quicken responses to similar issues that Quicken Background Agent is the same as bagent and is necessary for Quicken scheduled updates to run.
@Ewm101 I wanted to mention one additional possibility based on my own experience. I once ran into an issue where Scheduled Updates stopped working, and after exhausting the usual troubleshooting steps, reinstalling Quicken resolved it for me. I can't say whether the underlying cause was the same, but if the current troubleshooting doesn't uncover the problem, a reinstall might be worth considering as a later step.
Thanks. I’ll give it a try if it doesn’t work tomorrow!
