I've just moved my Quicken file to a new computer. I've been using the ImportQIF tool. I have the tool on the new computer but would love to bring over the mapping for the various accounts. Is that possible?
Hi @Mike23,
Thank you for your question!
When you mention account mapping in ImportQIF, do you mean the settings that associate imported data with your Quicken accounts, or the saved mappings used when converting CSV/Excel files?
Also, just to clarify, if you're only moving your Quicken data file to a new computer, you don't need to use the QIF import tool to transfer your accounts and transactions. You can simply move a copy/backup of your original Quicken data file to the new computer and open it in Quicken.
I want to make sure I understand which settings you're looking to transfer so I can point you in the right direction.
I look forward to your response.
The creator of ImportQIF, @Chris_QPW, posts here frequently. If I recall correctly there are help notes that come with the app that include contact info so you can email and ask for help.
Look at the File menu.

Thanks, @Chris_QPW, had not noticed the backup and restore settings option in the file menu before.
Thanks all. Much appreciated. The tool is very helpful BTW. Really appreciate it
